Amnesty International: Write for rights!
Hello guys :)
December is my favourite month, of course because of all the festive spirit. I'm always very excited, I also read Christmas books, watch Christmas movies and stuff that we Christmas fans are supposed to do. But this month is also very important for human rights; 10. of December is a Human Rights Day.
So today I won't be writing about books, but something that is also very important to me. I'm also a volunteer at Slovenian branch of Amnesty International and every year in december we are writing appeals for those whose human rights have been violated. The aim of writing is quantity of letters, which are sent to politicians, ministers or presidents to stop violating some person's human rights.
This year we have:

This year we have:
- Annie from Malawi, who is being chased because of albinism
- Ivo from Camerun , who's in jail because of sending sarcastic text
- Snowden from USA, whose pardon is wanted
- Johan from Indonesia, who is jailed because of raising a flag
- Eren from Turkey, who said killing a boy isn't right
- People from Peace River Valley Canada, whose home would be destroyed because of contructing the dam
- Shawkan from Egypt, who's in jail for takin photos as a professional photographer
- Maxima from Peru, whose home would be destroyed from multinational mining company
This 8 cases are the most important this December, especially Snowden, because Obama has to pardon him until January. This year pictures of these people are made by Ai Weiwei, famous artist, who's been rescued also with help of Amnesty International.

It's very important to take action now, and you can help by signing some petitions on our website. Though if you have more time you can write petitions like letters and send them to our head office.
